A keen and critical maroon stare landed on Enigma's feet. He noted her lack of restraint when it came to getting close to people, the fact that she didn't seem to care that she didn't know him at all, or how he would react to her intrusion.
"We'll begin simply enough." He looked directly at the girl again. She was calm now. Her heart beating normally, her aroma a little stale perhaps, but with no indicators of fear or nervousness. Her face held no twitches. A good baseline reading, then.
"In general, it's going to be assumed that you aren't very happy with your current situation. That's perfectly normal. So when I ask this, I mean it in the overreaching way. Do you ever feel particularly sad, or depressed, with no apparent reason, or perhaps with good reason but for far longer than you believe it should go on? If these feelings occur, do they overwhelm you and make it difficult for you to go on with your normal routine, whatever that might be?"
