Zoe was not making a happy to hear it face. In fact, it seemed to stay in the I'm not happy grimace that often times meant someone was about to get hurt. She didn't mind Serenity exisiting; in fact, she knew it was in the City, had known for a while. She also knew that Mal and Kaylee had lived on it for a while. They were going to get her to fly. She also didn't mind that her ex-husband was on it. No, it seemed fitting in a way, but..
"Friends? What friends?" There was a hint of eye narrowing at the name 'Maxine.' Wash deserved to be happy, and he deserved friends. He deserved love, but that didn't mean Zoe had to be automatically happy about it. He was supposed to be dead, which meant no moving on. He was supposed to be part of the Black and the damned hunk of rock they'd left him on. He was not supposed to be making friends on a ship that was more bad memory now than good with someone named Maxine.
"What are you doing on my ship with other people, Wash?" It was her ship. The captain had said as much; if anything happened to him, the ship would be Zoe's. Mal wasn't here, that meant something had happened, it was hers. It was not the best reaction for many reasons, but it was a reaction that came first all the same.
