Fortunately Wash hadn't noticed the glare in the middle of his babbling. But after he asked the question his eyes did become a bit circular at her look.
"Oh," was all Wash could think of to say. The two statements didn't seem to be very connected but there was obviously something he was missing.
"Ah! Funny you should mention that! Look!" he said and got out of the way of the view. "I found her! Serenity!"
His light hair followed by his face popped into an eschewed view a bit too close.
"I was flying! With Tony--in-in one of his suits. Anyway! I looked down and there she was! Buried in trees. Probably praying to the skies for her pilot. Been living here ever since. Woulda told ya but...I didn't know there was a directory! I'm surprised Jesse didn't tell you. Well-I mean-I guess he wanted to let me tell you. Which is great, huh? He's a good guy, right? He makes the best pies," he said.
He had sat back down during his rambling and looked quite pleased with himself, now.
There was joking happy Wash and there was genuinely happy, this here was the latter.
"Got a couple of friends helping me get her into tip top shape. Thought I'd give her a spin around the city when it was done. Oh! I gotta tell you about Maxine--" Wash started with a grin. And this might be the part where Zoe would have had enough of him.
