"It'd be easy if I was insane. Thought I was fer a bit. Had me up at Arkham. But everyone was up at Arkham for a time."
Jesse shrugged and moved forward. It was a lot of requests, but if it would help Wash accept, then it wasn't much in the grand scope of things.
"Ready? Don't blink, it's gonna be fast. And there ain't likely to be much of a show."
He wasn't a magician after all. He didn't go in for the style. He just got things done.
A hand was placed on the engine, and he put some power into it. Things that weren't right were fixed and soon the thing roared to life. So he couldn't actually repair it by hand like he'd hoped, but it was nice to hear an engine of any kind purr in perfect working harmony.
Next, the pie. Jesse held his hands out and there was a pie there, cradled easily. He'd gone ahead and plucked an idea of what Wash would want right from inside the man's brain. Rude, yes, but there'd been no specification. It had whipped cream all over the top of it, but Jesse knew that it was chocolatey. And rather personal.
"Left the healin fer last, since it's easiest done if there's contact between us. Thought you might wanna think on that one a moment before it happened."
