She seemed a little bit upset. Jack didn't miss the fact that her eyes were shining a little bit more than they should if she was truly happy about this.
He reached over to touch her hand briefly before taking his hand back.
"Fred, I'll help you with whatever you need," he promised. "And you are welcome here for as long as you'd like to stay. It's not like I'm using all three bedrooms after all."
His apartment was much bigger than he needed to have to himself after all. It could be a little bit lonely sometimes because there was a feeling that the empty spaces should be filled with something. The castle had been like that too after the downfall of his mother as Queen and after Alice had left. He supposed he would get used to it all eventually, as having that much space and no way of filling it seemed to be his normal. That didn't stop him from enjoying the temporary respites, like having Fred as a houseguest.
