"Sweetheart, I don't know you that well, but I'm not gonna ever waste my time tryin' to talk you out of a goddamn thing," Lindsey said.
He wondered how that conversation had gone, just a little. Because he sincerely would not have bothered to have it. Some women, you didn't ever try to change their minds.
Those were the kind he liked.

Lindsey gave her a small, close-lipped smile. "Naw," he said. "Not unless you count Lorne. And I guess Fred. She was never really even close to being my friend, though. Just know 'er."
And that was it. No Angel. Nobody else from Angel Investigations, that he knew of. No Darla. No Dru. No slayers. No street kids who fought the things that went bump in the night (though he knew that Jo pretty much fell into that category).
"S'better that way," he said. "Most of the people back where I'm from don't like me to much."
