Jo gave Lindsey one last smile and then headed up to the stage. She found his request on the karaoke machine and waited as the opening bars started. Singing in front of people wasn't something she did very often, but if she closed her eyes it was just like belting it out in the car or the shower.
She could sing well enough. She definitely wasn't polished enough to be a professional, but there was an earnestness to her voice that some might find endearing.
By the second verse, she'd forgotten about the crowd, even though her eyes were open again.
