Veronica gave him a mock-disbelieving look. Eye of the Tiger. Pft.
But... flying.
There'd been a movie she watched a lot as a kid. One that she liked simply because it was really... simple. 'The Boy Who Could Fly.' Fred Savage was in it, and some other actors that weren't as famous. But it was all about a teenage boy that could just... fly. It was all about him and the girl that lived nextdoor.
For a second, she tried to imagine what flying would be like without an airplane, or without anything but just your skin, muscle and bones. For someone with such a great imagination and active mind, Veronica came up short. It'd be cold, right? And... and... your hair would go everywhere because of the wind. But would that thing happen in the pit of your stomach, that drop? Did that happen for Logan anymore, or was it gone because now things like this were... well, natural?
I could take you, if you wanted to go.
Veronica snapped out of her silent musings. Her mouth opened.
She was going to say something about how she'd better not. There was going to be a rational answer.
Instead, almost as soon as he finished the statement, her response was out of her mouth.
