Ted looked at Jo, shaking his head. No kid should be a vegan. That was a decision that an adult should make for themselves. Or at least a person who had a good 16 or 17 years of other food under their belt. Ted could only imagine Maxine deciding that she wanted to try a hamburger for the first time at the age of 14, and getting really sick because of it.
But, not his kid, not his say.
"You need a plan." He nodded. "You can't just have a kid hanging around without one. You have to consider your ... lifestyle. You have to think about if you can really have a kid around for an extended period. If she gets comfortable here and you realize that it's not safe for her and have to move her somewhere else, it's going to uproot her, and she's already been brought here."
Ted's tone wasn't angry at all, just informative. He knew that Jo didn't have any experience with the little ones, she needed help. Guidance.
"If you do want her to stay, we're going to have to make sure that everything in your house is safe. Everything. Things will have to be more than just hidden. They'll have to be locked up. I know how you feel about having easy access to... the stuff that goes with your day job."
Ted looked in the direction of the kitchen. "NO SOY FOR ME."
