"Eugh," he replied with a shiver. "That's a might unsettling. And a little gross. Any idea the location of this brain? Wouldn't want to accidentally stick my foot in any gray matter."
He nodded.
"Thanks," he said, the ache dulling without an arm around it.
And quite suddenly and unexpectedly, Wash lost his nerve. His confidence and security in his decision to pursue Zoe bottomed out and he was left with a wholly unintelligent statement, "Uh."
He swallowed and puffed out his cheeks, looking everywhere but at Zoe (which was difficult as they were about as close as they could get without inhabiting a bed). His brows furrowed.
"Uh. D-do you have strong feelings for this guy? This...what's his name?" Wash asked.
