"I'm Batman." Zoe doubted that would mean anything to the pilot, but it did seem to do something for other people. There was a slight twitch as if the Bat wanted to move when Wash winced. Second nature of sorts threatening to reveal the person beneath the apparently frightening armor.
Instead, the Bat moved to gather up the notebook, beating the injured man by a few seconds. There was a pause as if to make sure the notebook was intact, and what Zoe saw on the page was not something that should ever have been recorded in any fashion. The Bat's head tilted as 'he' definitely looked at the man in a much too bright shirt. Perhaps it was a telling bit of body language, but then everyone did that at some point - or many people did anyway.
"You shouldn't carry this around for anyone to see." The notebook was forcefully returned to the pilot. The hand not holding the notebook to the pilot's chest clasped on Wash's shoulder. "I would suggest you burn that." What was the point in being the Bat if she couldn't use it sometimes for good? Or possibly very personal reasons?
