This story sounded familiar, but she couldn't really place why it did. At least, the beginning part. Had she read this? Or... or seen it? She knew there were people here from what she considered to be fiction. She was sure, as Bruce began speaking, that he was one of them.
I took enough radiation during that explosion...
She leaned back a little in her chair, sort of aghast. Fiction or not, that didn't sound fun. And here he was sitting, alive, and flesh and blood, right across from her.
And then, before she could say anything, he said it: The Hulk.
She remembered re-runs of a tv show, then, with a guy in green make-up. And she remembered that they'd made a movie out of it not too long ago. A movie that had Jennifer Connelly. Piz had always really liked Jennifer Connelly.
"Uhm."
She laughed, just once, nervously, then scratched at the side of her head, moving some blond hair haphazardly around.
"I, uh... wow? I don't... what do people say to that? When you tell them?" She leaned forward again. "Because other than wow, it's all sorta conflicted. I'm sorry that you have to deal with that."
The last sentence was very sympathetic and heart-felt. And actually, if she thought for long about Logan turning into a vampire, this made his change seem tiny by comparison.
It wasn't like Logan had to worry about razing a damn city. Bruce did.
"Is it... is it like you guys share a body? Can you talk to him?"
Veronica didn't call Hulk an 'it.' She figured that was not a good idea.
