Bruce hadnt believed it at first either, this city had a way of surprising him even still. He hasn't been aware of all of the secrets this place held until a friend had shown him the vital things about this place. As well as the discovery of the fact that his life could possibly be fictional. It was a hard thing to think about because he knew it wasn't true, but that was the confusing part in itself.
When she replied with an 'okay' Bruce took that was agreement enough not to expose him. He settled for a moment, before deciding to give Veronica the gist of the accident itself.
He breathed out slowly, trying to control the abnormal pounding of his heart that was racing due to the anxiety of having to tell the story, but he would manage. He tilted his gaze to meet hers and sat back against the chair, "Well, I used to work for the government. The military had developed a serum that turned regular soldiers into what they called "super soldiers," people that were extraordinary. It was successful when used, and so the government hired me to take on a project that would involve using gamma radiation fused with this serum to produce enough force to create an entire army. We were developing a bomb, as well, using the gamma radiation. I have a doctorate in Nuclear Physics, with an expertise in the subject of gamma radiation and it's effect on people and the planet. It was only natural the government would recruit me to work on something so time-consuming and specific." Bruce explained, sighing softly before continuing, "One night, after we'd created and finished the bomb a car crashed into the facility we were working in, and it smashed into the bomb. The driver was drunk or something, I guess, but he managed to get out. We evacuated, but I stayed behind to help anyone that might be having trouble making it to safety. That was when the explosion happened."
Bruce shifted uneasily in his seat. "I took enough radiation during that explosion that would've disintegrated anyone on impact." His face grew serious, "I'm sitting here with you right now, the sole survivor of that impact. The radiation fused with my genes, which is how I survived such a massive dose and the only thing that kept me alive after the explosion was the burden that came from the splicing. The Hulk."
Bruce's brown eyes slowly began to show small flecks of green, as his heart rate continued to race, "It's an unstoppable, destructible force. Green, weighs a ton, and very, very angry. He only comes out when I get anxious, upset or mad. I've gotten better control over it since coming here but sometimes I can't stop him. I can't feel the change coming either until its too late." He breathed in, then out, trying to calm his heart. Finally, his eyes settled back to their normal brown.
"He's damaged through the city three times already. I don't want it to happen again."
