Annie had seen the news about Fred. It devastated her. She had really liked the brainy Texan. A lot. There was so much that she'd wanted to talk about with Fred, so much that she thought that they could do together. Now there was no chance of that happening. Because Fred was gone.
It was an odd juxtaposition in her life. She'd lost a friend, but she'd gained a ... Tony? Annie didn't know if she should call him a boyfriend. Even though after that first time he'd been all over her. Little gifts left for her in her lab. Lunch dates. Dinner dates. They still talked tech and had the same working relationship that they'd had before, but now there were added things. Little moments. Tony stealing her away whenever he could convince her to. She'd been enjoying herself quite a bit.
She maybe shouldn't have been at work today, but it wasn't the day that the store closed, and Megan wasn't scheduled to be in at all. It was one of the days that Annie did repairs on the things that had been dropped off. Things needed to be done. And they had to be done in a timely manner.
But since the store had been quiet for about an hour and all the back log had been taken care of, Annie took a moment to mourn her friend. She leaned her elbows on the counter and cried quietly for a bit.
It startled her when the door opened. She stood immediately and wiped furiously at her eyes. Likely, they were still red and puffy, but there was nothing that she could do about that.
"Hey, welcome to Fixit." She greeted the customer.
