Dinah grinned at the 'demand' for more kissing. She had absolutely no problem with that, or with beating up whoever did this to Fred.
She rustled around in the top drawer of her dresser until she found the two ring boxes. One was wrapped, but she took the ring out of the second one and slipped it in her pocket. She was glad that she'd at least wrapped that first box ahead of time.
She returned to the living room quickly enough. She wasn't dressed for the occasion as Dean might have wanted, but the smile she gave him showed that she wouldn't mind getting dressed-or in this case, undressed.
She took a seat next to him and held out the small present.
"If I'd had my way, there would have been burgers and cake. But it seems like the City doesn't like to give birthdays off," she said, with an apologetic grimace for the fact that she wasn't giving this gift or the planned meal on his actual birthday.
