"Lecter. Hannibal Lecter." Hannibal's smile was slight. He watched Lindsey move. The man had confidence in himself that he'd earned. The differences between that and false pride were in the movements themselves. Practiced versus natural. All of Lindsey's movements were natural. This man did not stand in front of the mirror every morning trying to pep himself up for the day's work. Making faces at himself.
"I am glad to hear this, so many in life do things they are not absolutely certain of, causing pain and hassle for others. I am not fond of things going badly because somebody is less than what they purported themselves to be. I realize that there is the chance that everything may go awry without blame on any party involved, which is something nobody likes of course."
Hannibal didn't expect perfection in all people at all times. But he did expect them to be honest with themselves and him when it came to what they were capable of doing. If one of his doctors didn't think they could perform a surgery, he urged them to say so instead of trying and mucking it all up. Honesty was the key to him.
"Her name is River Tam. Her case will be a very difficult one. She is very dear to me, and I wish for her to have the absolute best representation that can be had. Money is not an object for me. I am the head of Diagnostics and the lead surgeon at the City Hospital, I am paid quite well."
