Lindsey didn't have any appointments set, so he took his time getting to his office this particular morning. Which was nice, considering the lack of night time thing. He couldn't help but smile about that, though. Angel'd be fucked. He liked scenarios where that happened.
He grabbed a newspaper from the convenience store near his apartment like he always did, then drove to the office in his truck, just like normal. Today's plan was to check out the River Tam file a bit more, try to pin down where it'd come from. That, and send some flowers over for Fred.
Lindsey was a bit shaken by what he'd heard on the news about her, and it did make him a little sad. She was a soldier, had been since she took up with Angel. And she was a damn good one from all he'd seen. Shade too sweet, maybe, but he bet she lost that when she needed to. As he made his way up the stairs to the office, Lindsey decided on a non-traditional flower to send over. Sunflowers. That seemed right.
He gave Andrea a smile as he came in, and started for his door.
"There's a young man in there to see you," she said.
"Did I screw up?" Lindsey asked. "Thought I didn't have any appointments today."
Andrea shook her head. "Well, you didn't. He said he'd wait, and he was very polite, so I didn't see the harm."
He wasn't thrilled about this, but it was okay. Lindsey nodded, hand on the doorknob. "Andrea, can you call the flower shop? Get them to send over a big bunch of sunflowers and a card to wherever the memorial's gonna be for Winifred Burkle."
Andrea scribbled that down. "Sure, will do."
Lindsey turned the knob and went in.
Sure enough, there was a kid sitting there, just waiting. Calmly. Lindsey smiled at him.
"Hi there," he said, setting down a cup of coffee. He offered his hand to the kid. "Sorry if you were waitin' long. What can I help you with?"
He was in a crisp button down shirt, but no tie, and the top button was open. Lindsey also wore jeans and boots, but none of it looked wrong or unprofessional on him, somehow.
