Jo accepted the cup and didn't add any embellishments to it. She was a coffee purist. She took a sip and a moment to relish the little jolt of caffeine buzz anticipation as the hot liquid rolled over her tongue.
She did smile at Veronica's admission that she didn't have enough 'fance.'
"Can't say I've got all that much 'fance' myself," Jo said with a shrug. "Then again, where I'm from, I usually stood out simply for being one of the only women."
Most of the hunters she'd met had either dismissed her for being female, hit on her, or both.
"Nothing like having to spend most of your life proving yourself just because you're not in the right demographic, right?"
There was another easy smile. It didn't bug Jo all that much. Maybe it had once, but not now.
