"Before I came here, I'd been traveling all over so I didn't really have a home base. Before that, it was Nebraska," Jo said.
She felt like she was from Nebraska more than anywhere else, even if that wasn't her birthplace. It still hurt a bit to think of the home that she'd lost and the mockery of that home that existed in the form of the horribly mangled Roadhouse. But Jo had lost more important things than that, both before her arrival here and now.
She smiled appreciatively as Veronica grabbed a cup for her as well.
