Jo couldn't help but smile at the slippers. They were cute and just a little bit out of place in the streets.
"I'm Jo, and I didn't realize any of us signed up for any of us this." Her tone was as friendly as she could manage at the moment. After all, it wasn't Veronica's fault that she'd just lost a friend.
Jo turned her gaze back to the sun, which was still resolutely hanging in the sky despite how late it was.
"Any theories on what might prevent a sunset somewhere that's not Alaska?"
She was hit by the unpleasant thought that perhaps the City had just moved that close to a sun or something along those lines, but it was probably better not to pursue that line of thinking. Jo might have stopped some things that most people couldn't imagine, but even she was powerless to knock a planet back into its correct alignment.
