Hannibal turned slightly to watch as he heard River approaching. She looked better than she had in days. More rested, more focused. He felt that it was, indeed, a good time for them to start focusing on what she had lost.
"Please." He motioned to the plate that he had set for her and the food that was spread out on the table. He had many things he knew that she liked, and a couple of things that he thought she might like to try.
Hannibal didn't sit until everything was properly in place and he'd poured River a glass of water. The flatware that the hotel provided was all to Hannibal's standards, and River's water sat in a fancy wine glass filled with ice. It was decadent, but he liked it very much.
He waited for her to dish up what she wanted before he got what he desired.
