"Captain Sparrow?" Alice asked eagerly, straightening her dress. "He's the one that looks like a pirate a bit, isn't he? I haven't met him - I mean, yet - but he looks like he'd be lovely to talk to."
She'd be able to catch the rabbit another time. She was sure of it. But for now, there was another opportunity in front of her, one she was most eager to explore. The girl, Violet, seemed to be only a couple of years older, and judging by her clothes, came from a similar time and place. This cheered Alice considerably.
"I'm Alice," she said, "Alice Liddell, it's lovely to meet you. What have you got there?" she asked, peering curiously at the bag in Violet's hands.
