"If you are awake you cannot tell me not to be," she replied gently, a slight hint of teasing in her voice. Playfulness. But if was true. Erik was not able to tell her sleep when he defied that very same instruction. Besides, she much preferred to sit with him. Especially now that he was much more willing to touch her. To accept her touch. Her hand fit so perfectly with his that she was momentarily distracted by that. They truly were made to be with one another no matter what some may say.
She wondered if he would be angry that her engagement ring was not hidden at present. She did not have it on her finger but the chain hung outside of her nightdress and robe and she had not yet hid it. But she never took it off at least She longed for the day it could sit proudly on her hand and she could talk of him with the name 'husband'. But she would much rather him better first so she had never mentioned her impatience.
"My day?" It had consisted mostly of worrying really. Of checking him. Sitting by him as he slept. But no, that would not be said. "I have practised, as promised. I have spent some time working on my dancing given I have not had the chance until recently." That had been something she had truly missed whilst having her arm in cast. As her hand was pulled up to his lips she could not help but lean forward. Partly to make it easier for him and partly to simply be closer to him.
"I spent some time in the library today. And took a walk to the shore. Not for very long of course."
