Bruce stood from his chair, his own champagne forgotten. Alfred was wearing his innocuous expression. Ah, so he'd caught it, too, had he. Of course he had. He probably quietly forgot to mention those conditions when he and Bruce talked it over.
"And the Riddler's daughter, Enigma," Bruce said, as he folded his hands behind his back, turned toward the window, and walked.
"There is little doubt that we could be stronger as a cohesive team, Ms. Lance," he finally said, coming to a stop at the window. "But I have every intention of breaking the law, when it is required to put criminals behind bars. If what I do could be done legally, I would fund the City P.D. myself. But it can't."
He watched Dinah in the reflection of the window in front of him. He did not believe he could join her Justice League. Not now.
