Unobtrusively, Alfred moved into the sitting room and led Dinah to the chair he'd been occupying before. Neatly retrieving his champagne glass, he set it and his tea set on the far table. Moments later, he was pressing into Dinah's hand her own flute -- and after it came a gift box just for her, thoughtfully signed by Alfred's hand from both himself and Bruce Wayne.
"He does," Bruce said with a smile toward Dinah. But until this moment, he hadn't been aware that Dinah knew about him. "We're a partnership now," he explained, as Alfred delivered his gift. He gave no sign of knowing that Alfred had also signed his own name to the present. "I hope you'll forgive me, Ms. Lance. I'm still getting used to the fact that the secret I worked hard at keeping from everyone in Gotham is well known by many here."
It was strange to set aside his playboy persona. It was strange not to wear any sort of mask with someone he didn't know. It made him exceedingly uncomfortable - a fact he hid as easily as he hid anything else.
