Erik's nod came on the heels of the first syllable of Hannibal's first word. It was confirmation that the young doctor gave now, not new information. But the second reason was interesting. Mere curiosity? Hm.
It was an interesting question, to be sure. What did the heart of a man taste like? Erik's own hatred for humanity worked with him, here, in that he placed very little value on most of the stock of their species - only a few shining examples excepted. But for the same reason, Erik found cannibalism as a theory unappealing. Respect played no part. Anger played no part. The desire to show his domination and his superiority played no part. And he was quite simply not starving. No, there was no reason for Erik to find cannibalism appealing whatsoever. But he was mildly curious as to the same thing Hannibal had been.
"I'm honored," he said. "And now, tell me what it was like."
