Dinah had just finished making sure that all of the bad guys were secure for when the police arrived and that the terrified children were returned to their parents when the man in the red metallic suit re-entered the room. She straightened up and considered the offer.
It wasn't like she had anywhere else to be, and she wasn't eager to go home to an empty apartment. She hadn't been able to bring herself to take down the Christmas decorations yet and perhaps that was a mistake because it was just a reminder that Christmas wasn't going to turn out how she'd hoped this year.
Besides, the drink might be an opportunity to get to know the man who'd helped her out more. He was impulsive to be sure, but he had also handled the situation quickly and in a way that indicated that this wasn't his first rodeo. He could be a good ally and possible teammate.
"Sure," she said. "I don't have anywhere else to be at the moment."
She held out her hand.
"Nice work tonight. I'm Dinah Lance. Or the Black Canary when we're out in the field."
