Stepping up the game... (Bruce/Edward reference log)
(OOC Note: This is just a small scene between Bruce and Edward only for reference purposes. It would be silly to do a whole thread for them, especially since both of them are mine xD and please do be ware there is some mild violence, blood shed and a small amount of adult language. THANKS! )
It had been almost too much for Bruce to bear, the thought of living without Enigma for too much longer, and even though they were fighting, Bruce couldn't find it in his heart to stay away from her, despite how much she had hurt him. He loved her, and perhaps that made him naive, but he was going to deal with those reprocussions later, only listening to his heart instead of his head in this very instance. He knew of only a few places that Enigma could be, unaware that she was actually staying with Damon and his vampire girlfriend, which would upset him greatly if he knew of such. He didn't hate vampires, infact he found them quite fascinating, he couldn't stand the thought of Damon and Enigma being together again because he was the one she had been so unfaithful with in the first place. It would've been the equivilant of a gunshot to the heart if he found out that information. It would've been the last straw, this early in the game.
Bruce decided that he needed to talk to her, to Enigma, and sort things out. So, instead of going back to the Opera house, where was one of the places she might be, he first went to the warehouse to look for her, to see if perhaps she had gone back to the place they had once called home. He wasn't aware that Edward was actualyl the one residing at the warehouse, instead of his daughter Enigma, so of course Bruce was surprised when he arrived there and had let himself in, that there was no sign of the girl anywhere around. Even her lab seemed desolate. Bruce moved further into the warehouse, eyes scanning the tables that were covered in blue prints, old, empty bottles of whiskey, and a random, golden question mark shaped revolver that perched idly upon his own laboratory table. That was sort of disheartening. Perhaps Enigma wasn't here after all. Bruce figured that maybe Enigma was currently at the Opera house, and turned to head back towards the door, when of course Edward stumbled over the threshold.
Edward looked up at Bruce, frowning deeply as he approached the scientist, lifting his chin high almost as if to say he was better than the other man, "So, you didn't learn your lesson the first time, hm?" Edward almost spat, eyes narrowing at Bruce as he approached the smaller man, pausing a few feet from him, looking him over with as much disgust as one would look at a hairy little spider.
Bruce cleared his throat, taking an absent step towards the lab table that held the gun, worried that things would get violent again, though the idea that there was a gun nearby was sort of releiving, considering at least this time he could be armed, in the event that anything should happen. With Edward, you never could really tell, as he was completely unpredictable.
"Is Enigma here?" Bruce inquried softly, before sighing, "I don't want any trouble with you, Edward. I just want to talk to her, make things right with her." Bruce explained, hoping that Eddie would listen to reason. Of course, it wouldn't be that easy and Bruce knew it, but it was at least worth a try. It was in his favor, as well, that Jonathan wasn't there. He didn't want to have to deal with the Scarebeast at that present time.
Edward just laughed at Bruce's question, head thrown back as he did so, before he looked over at Bruce, shaking his head at him, "Oh, no, she's not here. It's just you and I, right now." Eddie replied, offering Bruce a wide, manic grin. Oh this was too perfect. This was his chance to prove that Bruce wasn't right for his daughter once and for all. "I don't know where she is, you stupid man, but I'm glad she's not here. She would be defending you, I'm sure, because she's just as stupid as you are, and that makes her weak. She's better off without you. You poison her." Eddie spat, stepping closer to Bruce, causing Bruce to take a step towards the table that held the revolver, though Eddie had completely forgotten about the gun.
Bruce shivered, and nodded, not wanting to provoke Edward any more than he had to, "Alright, well, I will leave you alone then, and go find her on my own." Bruce said, moving a step to the side, closer to the table to hide the gun, not wanting Eddie to see it just yet. This brush off was something that Eddie loathed, some stupid scientist wasn't going to brush him off so easily, especially not when they had unfinished business.
"You aren't going anywhere." Eddie growled, lifting a hand upwards, shoving Bruce against the lab table, causing the scientist to wince in pain as his hip and side collided hard with his own lab table. "I don't want to fight you, Eddie." Bruce said softly, straightening himself up.
"Oh, but you won't have to, Banner. You'll be dead first." Eddie replied, chuckling to himself, drawing his gun from the holster beneath his arm that contained a weapon, holding it up against Bruce's temple, causing the scientist to look up at Eddie with displeasure. "You do realize that I can't die, and that you'll only provoke my beast." Bruce said, through his teeth, glaring defiantly at Edward.
Eddie only laughed, using his thumb to cock the gun, pushing a bullet into the chamber, "Oh, will I? I doubt that. I think you're just lying to get out of this situation, Banner." He growled, done with this game. He was ready to just kill this man, and be done with it. Who cared what Enigma thought, it didn't matter to him, he was only doing his fatherly duty anyway by killing the scientist.
Without thinking, Bruce slid a hand behind himself, picking the revolver up without Eddie knowing, before pulling it forwards, pressing the barrel against Edwards stomach, glaring at him, "You aren't the only one with a gun, Edward." Of course, Bruce had no idea really how to fire a gun, he'd never had to pull the trigger or aim a weapon before, and he hoped that Eddie would at least back down knowing he was armed.
Of course, Edward found this sight amusing, stepping back slowly, keeping the gun pointed at Bruce as he did so, Bruce holding up the other, matching revolver as well, unsure of what to do. He cocked the gun, as he had seen Edward do, pushing a bullet into the chamber, both men ready to fire.
Eddie continued to laugh, holstering his gun, anxious to see what Bruce would actually do with the cocked weapon, having a good idea that Bruce had no idea how to use the gun at all. Of course, he was right, but Bruce had no idea that Eddie could read him so well.
"And just what are you going to do with that gun? Shoot me?" Eddie said, offering Bruce a grin, folding his arms over his chest in a casual manner, sure that Bruce didn't have the heart to do such a thing.
Bruce shrugged, holding the gun up, still pointing it at the other man, "Maybe. But not because you don't deserve it. You don't deserve an amazing woman for a daughter, you treat her so poorly." Bruce growled, already feeling his rage building as he stood there with Edward.
Eddie just smiled, shrugging his shoulders at Bruce, "I can't help it. If she wasn't so stupid and in the way all the time, maybe she'd be more useful and then I would be able to like her more." He said with a smirk, "And she has horrible taste in men, apparently. She is a disgrace to my name." Edward said, almost spitting the last sentace he spoke, earning a glare from Bruce.
"She isn't a disgrace! She has so much potential and you can't see past your own ego to give her even the hint of a chance to prove herself to you." Bruce said, body shaking with anger at the way Edward was talking about Enigma.
Eddie grinned, shrugging, "You left her too. What does that say about her, hm?" Edward said, knowing he was winding Bruce up. He was really curious as to this monster he was hiding, sure that all of that was just talk. Monster men didn't really exist.
Bruce's eyes flashed green, and he growled, holding the gun steady. He had no idea how to use a gun, of course, so when he pulled the trigger on the revolver, his steady hand dipped, and the barrel pointed at the tiled floor, causing the bullet to collide with the tile, and rocochet upwards. In another second, the bullet had projected from the hard floor, and into Eddie's thigh, puncturing the skin, nicking the femoral vein. Had it severed the vein, Eddie would've bled to death in a matter of minutes, but the bullet only stopped and remained lodged in the man's leg.
Eddie blinked, unaware of what had happened for a second, before he screamed out, falling over with a scream of pain, clutching at his bleeding leg.
Bruce blinked as well, dropping the gun onto the floor, standing there for a moment, before rushing over to Eddie, kneeling down to him. He looked at the wound, trying to help him, only to be shoved backwards, hard, flying onto the floor.
"Get the FUCK away from me!" Eddie screamed, not wanting Bruce anywhere near him. Bruce sighed, respecting Eddie's wish, picking himself up from the floor, pulling a phone out of his pocket. Bruce called Marcus, explaining what had happened to the other man, telling Marcus to come and get Edwawrd, and to take him to see Dr. Crane. He told Marcus to be quick, that Eddie might not have much time, as Bruce wasn't sure the exact extent of the man's wounds.
Once Bruce was off of the phone, he looked down at Eddie, glaring at him, "Don't mess with me, Eddie. I will hurt you. I will not let you hurt Enigma, nor will I let you treat her like you do anymore. She is not a child, and why she cares about your opinion, I don't even know. You aren't worthy of such a beautiful woman in your life. You're lucky to still be alive." Bruce said, stomping across the tiled floor, towards the doorway, exiting through the doorway, heading back out into the day, leaving Edward there to bleed. He didn't care anymore.
