Jack understood the slowly mouthed word well enough and he felt a little twinge of guilt at the fairy's obvious frustration. He did notice that her mood seemed to change as she started to circle the bag.
He opened it up and began to take out some of the things he'd brought for lunch. He set one of the blueberry mini-muffins that he'd packed for lunch next to her.
"Are you hungry?"
He didn't know what fairies would eat, but the least he could do after upsetting her was try to show some hospitality.
