(Erik)
It was nice to sit back and watch a performance and not be within the worry and nerves that came with performing. Not that she would want to spend all of her time sitting in the audience but it made a nice change. She missed being on stage and could not really rehearse her dancing for fear she may end up making her arm worse even though the cast placed on at the hospital kept her steady. Christine just felt grateful to be alive, really. She knew those stairs well and knew she could have been in a lot worse a condition. Could have been dead. To get away with a broken arm and a few bruises, most of which had faded, along with the slight bang to her head would be considered incredibly lucky. So she enjoyed her time sitting in Box Five with Erik. She had not been with him as much as she would like but understood why. Carmen took some of his attention and then came his own compositions. She would sometimes sit in his music room with him and watch, not making a sound, so to have him away from that room and sitting by her was nice.
As always, she dressed in a way she hoped he approved of. She may not be on show as Enigma would be today but she still had to make a show of being part of the company that performed at the Opera House. Besides, if she sat by him then she would have to look presentable. Her hair stayed loose, given her knowledge on how he liked her curls, and were kept from her face by a clasp which she hoped, if he noticed, he would realise the shape it took. A rose in bloom. Make up, as always, was minimal as was her jewellery. In fact, she only had on a thin, silver chain which disappeared under the neckline of her dress where her engagement ring settled close to her heart.
As the Opera ended, Christine could safely say she was pleased with what she saw. She would have hated to lie to Erik about a performance. She left the box with him and their entrance into the gala was a lot more subdued than last time. This night was for Enigma and Hannibal, not them.
"Are you pleased?" she asked him quietly, eyes remaining firmly upon his enchanting ones.
