Damon had decided to see if there was another performance of the show that Enigma was going to be in that he could attend. He had so far met one of the other singers here and while she was attractive, it was clear to him that she was completely wrapped up with someone else. Enigma seemed more flexible, and while he knew she was seeing someone and they would never be serious, he did enjoy the time he had spent with her and it was a good distraction.
He was missing Elena more than ever these days. And he knew that every day he spend apart from her was a day less that he had a chance with her. That he could try to show her what it could be like for her if she decided that she wanted to be with him. And he couldn't help but wondered if she missed him to. He was a little worried that she wouldn't care that he was missing, she would be able to get Stefan back and they could both ride off into the sunset together. Realistically he knew that his chances with her were slim. He still stood by what he had said to her that he didn't deserve her, but Stefan did. Still, it didn't stop him from wanting her and from desiring her. She crept into his mind late at night a lot these days. It was the last part of her that he had remaining, his thoughts and memories of her. He hoped that some day he'd get to see her again in the flesh, even if she was with Stefan. It was better to be in her life, watching from the sidelines than to not be in it at all. He'd discovered that after he'd snapped Jeremy's neck and she'd hated him.
He glanced around the Opera house and went over to look at the poster of Carmen, his eyes sliding over the picture of Enigma's character in it, a smirk crossing over her lips. She was a very good distraction he had to say. She was no Elena, and he'd never feel the same way about anyone as he did for Elena, but that didn't mean he couldn't have some fun with her for now.
