Zoe couldn't answer right away, which was probably more an answer than anything. She sighed softly, and still not finding her voice, she nodded ever so slightly. She took a deep breath, looking away.
"I kept hoping you'd come back and stay," she spoke, not looking at him. This was not the sort of discussion anyone wanted to have, much less one in the middle of the produce department in front of the more exotic choices found in the City.
"You didn't. I had to say 'good bye' to you every time." Again there was the hint of anger. "Guess I'm having to get good at it." Perhaps that was a little cruel, but it was true.
"Maybe we shouldn't have this conversation here. Maybe we should take it somewhere less...." She looked around; the only word coming to mind was "fruity" and that wasn't right.
