"The targets create a pattern. That is the only thing that connects...them." The detective kept looking over things, listening to what the analyst said. He took note of the one who'd done the work while this guy was dead; Charlie, perhaps to his credit, didn't seem at all bothered by this thread of discussion. In the City things like this happened all the time.
"I don't think it was one of the City's own, not without guidance." He just kept flipping. "If the City did it, then yes, just one person or being did it. If it was one of us, again, just one person did it. The change of m.o..." The detective shrugged and kept flipping through paper.
"You've guessed by now that you can't always think like you did back home. Sometimes you have to go outside your comfort zone." He paused. "Dexter Morgan?" He could have gotten that name from a badge, or anywhere else, but Charlie found the couple who were shot together.
"Did you see Godzilla?" Charlie was still a little disappointed he'd missed that one. "I've met Death and a fairy, or some creature of magic, but I missed Godzilla."
