In her life... Sam felt as though he was supposed to know what her history was. He was at a loss as to how to fake knowing, especially with her asking questions. She seemed to have been surprised at vampires so he wouldn't peg her as a hunter, even though he had known at least one tiny blonde hunter in his life.
He frowned a bit at the question, debating how best to answer it. There was the truth with the potential that it would get back to his brother and then there was a whole host of lies that might or not be believable.
Finally, he settled on the truth. If he played it right, maybe he could even enlist her help in navigating the craziness of the City and finding out more about the other Sam's life.
"Actually, I'm not. I'm sorry to say that I don't remember you. Wish I did, because..." he smiled at her and let the unspoken thought speak for himself. She was pretty, after all. "But I just got here a few weeks ago. And I keep running into people that knew the me from before. I've been trying to sort it all out, but..." he shrugged. "It's a little mind-boggling to get dropped into some alternate life that another version of you has been living."
