Jen's brows lifted slowly as her friend described the ordeal. It might have been okay, except for that part where she shared a consciousness with all of her other selves and apparently every one of them had to deal with whatever damage came around.
"So it wasn't just people that needed help from important things. You became a pizza delivery girl, too." She had to repeat that last bit outloud, because it just seemed so damned absurd.
"I'm kind of glad that my wish wasn't something more complicated, then. I didn't even really take it seriously, so that's why I said what I said. If I'd thought it would actually do anything, I might have picked something bigger, and then..." She shook her head, not wanting to think of what might have happened. What might she have wanted if she'd believed she was really getting a wish? At that time? Jennifer had a fairly good idea.
"This city, I swear. The shit it comes up with to throw at us."
