The battle to maintain control of his emotions was really the only setback to having the beast inside of him, as it seemed to want to leap out every time something scared him or made his heart race.
"It is. It's hard to live a normal life when you have to watch yourself constantly. No room for error." He breathed out softly, shaking his head at her.
He listened as she explained her view on not focusing on the bad things, only the good ones, offering her a smile, "No, that's not childish at all. That's very normal, in fact, and very brave." He replied, knowing that was the best way to live. To live with fear, and in constant fear of the world around you was to not really live at all. He knew, because he did that every single day, trying to avoid sressors of every day life, and it was often difficult.
"Christine, I'm sure that nothing terrible will happen to you here. Sure, there are monsters, but there are monsters everywhere. You're right to feel the way you do, but this City is rather tame. I've seen real fear, I've been to places where they hunt you down, this is nothing compared to any of that. You don't have to worry."
