He appreciated that gesture of keeping his story quiet and off of the record, and he could keep the thing more than contained when his life wasn't full of stress, which it currently wasn't, nor did he see any stressors in his future, so all would be good. Things did tend to change, however, so he couldn't make amber an absolute promise, but he would do his best.
"I'll be good. I've been relatively quiet since I arrived here, at least until that fight with the vampire." That was short and sweet, however, he had fought longer, more epic battles than that one. A vampire was much like a mosquito to the Hulk. Something that sucks blood that you really want to squish.
When she asked why he told her, he shrugged at her, "maybe because you actually wanted to know, and some things just need to be taken off of someone's chest once in a while." He explained. It was almost a relief that she knew, in a way, but it was a little scary as well, considering she was intact a journalist and things could get messy if he couldn't keep himself in line.
