Annie wasn't surprised at the seeming timelapse. She was used to the way that the City shifted. She was actually a little surprised that it had taken as long as it had.
Tony's assessment of the beauty tools she'd encountered today was very correct. She took his hand and slid out of the limo, as carefully as she could. Her skirt wasn't exactly the longest thing. The last thing she wanted to do was flash strangers.
But once she was out of the car, Annie was stable on the heels. The trick was to just treat them like they were normal shoes, she'd realized. Not think about the heel being really thin, or the fact that they were just held on by some sort of physics that defied logic. Plus, she'd practiced some in the boutique.
The restaurant looked nice, and she was glad that she'd gone with this dress. She walked a few steps, then turned her head to see if Tony was following.
