She hadn't been serious about bossing somebody else around, but it kind of sounded like she'd be able to if she really really wanted. That was pretty funny, really. It was one thing to have an employee at Fixit, which was a shop she owned, but it was another thing to be able to tell somebody to go do something here, where she wasn't even close to being the boss.
"I have no doubt that the environment will become more heated once I've really gotten into the swing of things." She teased Tony. "I mean, look at that, and it's just my first attempt."
Annie really was proud of the mini-arm. As if on cue, the larger counterpart returned with the wires she'd asked for, and she glanced over at the growing list that Jarvis was compiling of possible names. She'd have to really go through it when she wasn't occupied with other things, and maybe consult with the robot to see if it particularly liked or disliked any of them. Then, maybe, she'd give it the freedom to name the tiny reproduction by itself, for the fun of such a thing.
"You're a generous gift giver." Annie raised an eyebrow at Jarvis' description of the things that Tony had received from Tony upon winning Employee of the Month. "No wonder you worked so hard to be the best."
She couldn't really think of any prizes at the moment. Honestly, she would do her damnedest just because she wanted to work here and wanted to push herself, she didn't need added incentive. But if Bruce was the kind of guy who could get into that, and she had indication that Tony was really serious, she could see herself going along with the game.
While she'd been talking, Annie had been attaching the wires where they needed to go. She finished getting the last one into place and took a step back. This was it, this was the moment of truth. If she'd done everything right, the little thing would come to life at the flick of a switch. It should function as an exact replica of the original.
One last time, she went over what she'd studied on the bigger model, recalling the steps she'd gone through in creation. She didn't want to turn it on until she was positive that she wasn't going to short it out, and she was determined to see this through without her powers.
"Jarvis, could you play the feed of the wiring into the appendage? Specifically the middle joint? I want to make sure that I placed that washer." There were so many parts in the lab space that she couldn't say for sure that anything had gone into the new machine or that it hadn't.
