"I wanted to see if I could do it without the blueprints." Annie said, a little sheepishly. Of course everything would have been easier with some kind of guide to walk by, but she'd wanted the challenge, and she'd wanted the bragging rights. "I didn't even use my powers."
She smiled a little. "Maybe Jarvis and I can think of something together, then. We can find some foreign word that means 'arm' but sounds really fancy and complicated."
There was a bit of relief, that she really hoped was undetectable, when he handed her the box and it didn't turn out to be something for a woman he was going out to see.
Annie bit her lip to keep from laughing at Jarvis' comment, because it really had been longer. The sentiment was sweet, though, she couldn't argue that. She slid the bow off and opened the box, stunned at what she found inside. Eyes wide, a smile creeping over her lips, Annie lifted the necklace charm first from it's place. Her thumb traced the lines of the design and she felt something become displaced. She thought briefly, and with much horror, that she'd already broken it somehow, but when she turned it over, she noticed it was supposed to that.
A tiny thumb drive slid from a protective slot.
She glanced up at Tony, grinning. Impulsively, she stood on her toes and gave him as good a hug as the situation allowed. "This is not only awesome, but it's pretty perfect, too."
Feeling a little girlish, and pulling a move she'd seen recently in a movie, Annie held the necklace out and turned around. Her hair wasn't long enough to pull out of the way like the woman in the film had. And she wasn't really sure what it meant if he agreed to do this, and what it meant if she told her to do it herself, but it had seemed like a fairly romantic moment to her, and she wanted to see what it felt like, even if ultimately it was just in her head. "Put it on?"
