There was a little flicker of hope in Jack's eyes when Beauty mentioned that she knew someone who'd returned with his memories in tact. That little spark of hope didn't last for long, however. He hadn't ever heard of that before this. People returning and remembering nothing, or being different versions of themselves. He tried not to think of the other version of Zee that had popped up and had been... well, not his Zee.
He was surprised at the sight of the cottage, though he supposed that nothing should surprise him now. It didn't look like the sort of dwelling one would find in a city, but there were a lot of buildings that didn't fit with a typical city. It was fitting to the woman walking beside him though. The City was usually good at that sort of thing. He considered her offer. He didn't know why she was being this kind, but he appreciated it all the same.
"Tea would be really great, if it's not too much trouble."
