"Hello," she said warmly, curtsying as she reached the side of the pavement. It was an old-fashioned gesture but she made it look natural and easy. It fit her, despite her modern-day trappings. "You're the mayor, aren't you? My name is Honour Bellaforte, but everyone calls me 'Beauty'. I've seen you here and there, but I've never been able to meet you. Hello! It's very nice to meet you at last."
She stepped onto the pavement. Her wet feet made footprints on the concrete, and after carefully placing her feet one after the other and then stepping back and looking at the imprints, she grinned and then smiled at the mayor again. "It's a lovely day for a walk, don't you think? Might I walk with you for a ways? It seems we're both lacking company today, and mornings like this are better shared, even if it's with a new friend. Wouldn't you agree?"
The smile she gave him was cheerful and altogether delighted. The morning was indeed beautiful, and there was a simple pleasure in walking around in dewy grass barefoot while collecting flowers for one's home. But more than anything, Beauty was in a very good mood because things finally seemed to be getting back to normal. Because things finally seemed to be going better.
