Dinah hadn't received one of the VIP invitations, but she'd wanted to go to the opera all the same. She had dragged Dean out-or perhaps whispered sweet nothings to get him to agree to go to the opera with her. She knew it was nowhere near his first choice of dates, but she appreciated that he'd been willing to put on a tux and accompany her tonight.
In fact, if he'd played his cards right he probably could have garnered enough influence to choose what they did on their next date-no matter how out there.
As it was, that potential influence had evaporated when he'd started very quietly snoring sometime during the first act. She was at least grateful that the snoring hadn't been loud enough to disturb anyone else.
She was even nice enough to let him sleep the opera away.
Once the curtain fell and the lights came up, she reached over and squeezed his hand gently in an attempt to wake him up. It was hard to be too angry because he still did still look dangerously gorgeous in that tux and she knew how much this was not his thing. All the same, she'd still hold it over his head, just a little bit, if only to get a backrub or something along those lines.
