It wasn't that she and Jack weren't able to spend time together. Point of fact, they spent quite a bit of time with each other, but behind closed doors. Whenever they went out there were reporters and photographers waiting to ask the most ridiculous questions of them while flashes blinded them. And the stories they came up with! She'd had some wild speculations about her from her stage days, but wow! These guys could be creative!
Going to the opera was a nice change from a dinner date, or trying to sneak a movie. It gave Zee an excuse to dress up. Her tastes leaned more towards slinkier dresses, but she was aware of Jack's reputation and wouldn't put it in jeopardy by going with something that showed more skin than satin. So she had chosen an elegant black evening gown. She let her hair tumble loose down her back for something a bit more daring than piling it all up on her head.
Jack got a bright smile from her as she laced her fingers through his. "It was lovely! I haven't been to the opera in years." Primarily because John's idea of a dress up date was Red Lobster, and when he hadn't been around she didn't go anywhere like this on her own. Life with Jack was so different! "You?"
