Molly's arrival in the City may have been out of her control, but a sympathetic and patient soul helped. Sam was now on the Protect At All Costs and for more than because he's cute list. You didn't run into many people who didn't back away slowly with their hands where you could see them once they realized you were batshit crazy.
Fine. She wasn't in Chicago anymore. But as far as she saw it that just meant she didn't have to deal with Lea's torture sessions cleverly disguised as training. Slinking around the alleys and back ways of the City proved that this place harbored just as many bug uglies as Chicago did. The Ragged Lady had a reason to be here then, and she would respond.
At the moment, the current bug ugly she was going toe to claw with looked like a hairless wolf on steroids. Open and oozing sores peppered its hide, its muzzle seemed to be rotting away from its jaws and all though its claws were split and cracking, they still dug pretty good furrows into the pavement. And it stank!
It hadn't started out this size, or Molly might not have allowed it to see her. At the moment, she had a decent shield held between her and Fluffy, but it was between her and the exit to the alley. She already had a tear in the layers of her skirt that exposed part of her leg. The many layers of fabric had done their job. Her skin was intact, but she was having to put all of her attention into the shield. If she let up even for a moment to sling a spell her skin might not stay so pretty.
