In spite of Fred's look, Jack had had the chance to talk to many people of the City. It didn't happen often, but sometimes the same incarnations of a person left and returned to the City. That said, he let it drop. He wasn't going to argue with her, certainly not over something like this. Especially since he knew that the other examples she gave were more likely the case. He'd heard enough about various incarnations of people returning to the City that he knew that was more likely the case, if they returned at all.
He looked up at her in confusion at the comment about not being an easy girlfriend. He wasn't sure how to answer that. She seemed quick to move on.
"You're welcome to stay and finish eating if you'd like. You weren't interrupting."
