Fred continued to hum and look around. She hadn't expected to see someone waving at her, especially not him. She glanced over the place to make sure he wasn't waving at someone else, then gave the Mayor of the City a small wave and a smile.
They hadn't spoken in a while. Not since that particular day. That hadn't been fun, not exactly. Now she had more not fun to share, if she thought of sharing it. She supposed she could not share it. Not knowing what to do, she just stepped forward, closer to the counter as the line moved.
Was she supposed to say something? Awkward was definitely the word.
