Lindsey's office was nearby the cafe. This was where his secretary came every day to get coffee for them both, sometimes breakfast.
Thing was, she usually got the wrong order, despite having it written down, so Lindsey'd often run out ten minutes after she brought it back to go get it right.
He was taking his fresh cup of black coffee, and musing silently to himself that they really needed to get a kitchen in the office, or at least something that made a decent cup of joe, when he caught a glimpse of Lois Lane.
Considering what Lorne'd told him about Lois, and figuring she probably knew a thing or two about what'd been happening around here--the people vanishing, new people appearing--than just about anybody else, Lindsey sidled over and slid into the chair opposite her, without a word. He set his cup of coffee down.
"Wouldn'ta pegged you for a jelly donut girl," he mumbled.
