She nodded. She'd felt that bit of heat and it had intrigued her. Now she knew why the thing was in use and the warmth made sense to her. It had in a way, anyway, because all such machines created heat in some capacity, but now it was vastly more clear.

Annie did appreciate his confidence in her, though. It made her feel better about herself and the whole situation. And if she'd had to talk somebody else though such a thing, then it meant that he wouldn't just die immediately if something went wrong, which was also excellent news.
