"I am happy to try this as long as Mr. Stark is notified of any effects of the communication," Jarvis said. Even without connecting to it directly, its loyalty to Tony was as unmistakeable as the robotic arm, the ARC chest reactor, and the suit's. They didn't always agree with Stark, or do as he asked, but there was a bond between the creator and his creations that nobody would be able to erase without destroying the machines entirely.
"It is a transplanted name, taken along with it's original personality outline from a young man who helped Tony construct it in school," Jarvis said. It wasn't something Tony ever mentioned, but it might help Annie to know the original programming for the personality had already been based on somebody who was odd and not quite bright. The young Stark hadn't intended on inhibiting the natural processing power of a computer with "dumb" limitations, but the personality quirks seemed to have translated in some respects. "He was a very good natured man, from what I understand, and was no more bothered by the nickname than Master Stark is about his own unflattering labels. However, if you still wish to find another name for it I will offer what assistance I can. I'm quite sure the arm has no opinion on the matter, it generally remains focused on actions than words."
Which was probably a good thing, given it's "dumbness" and the fact that Tony could be very cruel with his wit and tongue when he was in a bad mood. However he rarely ever did anything physical out of anger, constantly working to harness any physical retaliation with cognitive and logical reasoning.
Back in the center room Jarvis started up the environment for Annie as it had for Tony, and like it would for nobody else without Tony's express permission.
